Registered Apprenticeship
The CHW Registered Apprenticeship program is available through the Iowa Chronic Care Consortium and is approved by the US Department of Labor. The CHW Registered Apprenticeship program requires a partnership between the employer and participating apprentice, and includes:
- One year of on-the-job learning;
- Completion of the CHW classroom training. The classroom training is delivered in a live, virtual format with weekly online classes for 23 weeks. In addition to the weekly class there are weekly assignments, including required reading, quizzes and other coursework.
The 2023 CHW Apprenticeship cohort is underway and registration is now closed. Registration for 2024 will reopen in Fall 2023. If your organization is interested in exploring participation in the 2024 cohort contact Deb Kazmerzak, deb.kazmerzak@iowaccc.com, or at 515.554.3788.
